About Us
A Yearbook of Precision & Growth
Welcome
This yearbook is a strong example of how an adviser’s care and precision can deeply influence both the yearbook staff and the final product. When we received the files, one of our representatives reached out to the adviser, Chris Botello, to express how impressed we were by the professionalism and quality of the book. Chris shared that he had intentionally kept the design simple, avoiding a clutter of images. Throughout the year, he trained his staff with the philosophy that “less is better,” guiding them to select only high-quality, professionally taken photos.
As a graphic designer and Adobe expert, Chris set a high standard for his students—and it showed.
Although the yearbook included just two production treatments—matte lamination and Spot UV—the result was exceptional. The sleek white cover stood out for its minimalist elegance. However, we had concerns that the white might scuff or stain easily. To prevent this, we recommended matte lamination to protect the cover while preserving its aesthetic. We looked beyond printing to consider the user experience and how to best preserve the book’s clean look over time.
One of the standout design features was the front cover image, which seamlessly continues onto the title page. Chris envisioned an effect where the image would appear to expand as the book was opened. To bring this to life, we aligned the image precisely between the title page and the front cover case—a process that required detailed testing and careful calibration.
At United Yearbook, we don’t just help turn ideas into reality—we help create products of lasting excellence. The attention to detail made a meaningful difference for Chris Botello, who later shared:
“At all times, I felt that the people at United knew me, they knew my school, they knew what we are about, and they knew my yearbook. I felt throughout the process that they were as committed as I was to producing a great book for our kids. We were in it together.”
