About Us
Lights, Camera, Yearbook!

Welcome
We had the opportunity to support Baldwin Park High School in the creation of their 2024–2025 yearbook—a project led by yearbook adviser Mr. Jeff Warden and his student staff. Together, they chose a dynamic movie theme that set the tone for an imaginative and visually striking publication.
To complement the theme, the team implemented a custom-designed sleeve inspired by a popular children’s book. Mr. Warden brought in a sleeve from one of his toddler son’s children’s books as a reference. Our UYB representative carefully reviewed the construction of that sample and replicated it with a slight twist tailored for Baldwin Park High School. The result was a sleeve that perfectly fit the printed and assembled book, exactly as the yearbook staff envisioned. Initially, Mr. Warden was concerned about adding any premium upgrades, so we hesitated to suggest enhancements that would make the book stand out. However, UYB offered to add gold foil-stamping on the spine at no extra charge to give it an elegant touch—and he couldn’t have been happier. This gold foil stamping tied in beautifully with the golden frames featured on the front cover.
To further enrich the students’ learning experience, we conducted an in-person training session with the yearbook designers. During this session, students were introduced to key printing concepts, including terminology, file prep strategies, and the full process of creating print-ready files for both the sleeve and the hardcover case. Training topics included working with Photoshop PSDs, managing crop marks and bleeds, navigating templates, and exporting press-ready PDFs.
This project was a perfect blend of creativity and real-world skill-building, giving students hands-on experience that’s directly relevant to careers in graphic design, publishing, advertising, and marketing. The final yearbook and sleeve met the school’s expectations, and the students’ excitement was clear during their cover and sleeve review party.
